At this mornings (12/27/2016) Executive Committee I was able to bring forward the motion to end the grandfathered benefit of taxpayer subsidized health care benefits for the elected county board members.

At today’s (December 5th, 2016) county board meeting the newly elected members were sworn into office, along with the incumbents who won reelection.

I would like to welcome, Ms Tinker Parker, Ms Elisabeth Dunbar, and Mr Shane Ritter to the board.

Kankakee County Collections now over $18,000,000

When court fees, fines, violations and other monies owed to the courts are unable to be collected the Circuit Clerk works with an agency that pursues these collections for full payment to the county.

This company put their fees on top of the amount owed to the county and that is the only way this company is paid. They receive no direct payments from the county and are a strict fee for outcome vendor.

2014 Local Primary Elections

The primary is around the corner and wanted to fill everyone in on the contested races we have here locally.

State Representative 79th District
Both John Howard and current Rep Kate Cloonen are running in the Democrat primary.   Ms Cloonen was elected to her first term at State Rep last election cycle and Mr Howard has represented the south east portion of Kankakee County on the board since 2012.
